We Provide Services That Support Growth, Economic Development, and Job Opportunities

Collaboration and economic development come together with Montana First Nation (MFN) Management. The companies and services below are wholly owned by Montana First Nation and work under the governance of MFN Management. Creating job opportunities, training, and innovative frameworks, MFN Management is looking to the future to support Montana First Nation’s planning for its members and businesses.

Akamihk Kanataskiy Ventures (AKV) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Montana First Nation with a focus on generating profit and value for the Nation, valuing our people, and caring for the environment. AKV seeks to enhance employment for Montana First Nation and its members. 

Akamihk Energy focusses resources towards agrivoltaics to support its solar energy, infrastructure. We also construct new homes and enhance our power generation – managing a 4.5 megawatt commercial grid system. Within this service includes managing street light sales throughout Canada, supporting residential service calls forMFN residents, and monitoring utilities to minize costs.  

Akamihk Fresh grows fresh, pesticide free produce and freeze-dried herbs that are being purchased right here in Alberta. Along with produce being ordered by grocers, our produce is being shipped to restaurants, which further supports our efforts to bring clean produce into the communities across the province. 

Akamihk Buildings provides construction-related services such as architectural design and modular building solutions. Akamihk Buildings will renovate existing structures and construct new durable modular buildings with quality supplies. 

Akamihk Drones is a relatively new endeavour that focusses on advanced unmanned aerial vehicle services in partnership with the Edmonton International Airport. Business services include in-depth oil and gas, agricultural and geodetic geologic surveys. along with video and photographic surveys.

MFN Job Corps provides important links to external employers. Offering career training, personal development services, labour market intel and income maintenance services, MFN Job Corps aims to improve the economy of Montana First Nation, and thereby its residents. 

The Akamihk Innovation and Employment Centre is a joint venture between MFN Management and the Akamihk Community Development Society. Working with governments, industry, academic institutions along with other stakeholders, Akamihk Innovation aims to strengthen and improve current operations and support new business development for Indigenous  peoples.

Akamihk Hydrogen‘s goal is to provide access to clean energy and empower Indigenous communities across central Alberta. The next generation of renewable and sustainable energy is here and MFN Management is here to provide services and solutions.
